Inter cannot move for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal until they have sold three midfielders, according to Tuttosport.
Radja Nainggolan, Borja Valero and Joao Mario are all headed for the exit door and they will all have to leave in order to make room for the Chilean, both numerically and economically.
Barca would have to accept a loan with option to buy deal if Inter want Vidal, but the paper did not indicate whether this was likely.
Vidal scored three goals and created seven assists last season as Ernesto Valverde’s side won another La Liga title, also reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Inter face an uphill battle avoiding a net loss for Nainggolan as they would need at least €29 million.
Valero is worth €3-4 million and has interest from Fiorentina and Genoa, while Mario is being linked with Monaco in Ligue 1.
The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder would have to be sold for €19-20 million if Inter don’t wish to lose money, but this could be done on a loan with obligation to buy.
