Inter have raised their asking price for Mauro Icardi to €80 million, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri have informed both Juventus and Napoli of their increased demands, as Aurelio De Laurentiis and Cristiano Giuntoli continue their charm offensive with Wanda Nara.
Suning were persuaded to up Icardi’s price tag after seeing Manchester United’s hard-line stance for Romelu Lukaku, who is worth €85 million to the Red Devils.
Inter’s owners see little sense in selling Icardi on a cheap fee if they cannot reinvest whatever money they get into Lukaku, who remains Antonio Conte’s first choice in attack.
Icardi is training alone at Appiano Gentile this week as he awaits Inter’s return from Asia, where they have traveled for a preseason tour.
Conte’s side were unable to beat either Manchester United or Juventus but they will have another chance to secure a victory against Paris Saint-Germain tomorrow.
Tottenham and Valencia will provide Inter’s final two opponents before Serie A begins again on 24 August.
