Antonio Conte’s new-look Inter side are following five key principles as they work through their preseason friendlies, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri lost to Manchester United on their International Champions Cup debut, before drawing with Juventus in Nanjing on Wednesday.

Conte’s side put in a poor display against United but dominated the first 45 minutes against the Bianconeri, only losing out on penalties after normal time.

Gazzetta spotted a number of traits Inter were showing off as their players attempt to learn Conte’s style of play.

Changes of play are the first constant of the Nerazzurri’s performances, with Conte encouraging his side to use diagonal passes to attack opponents on their weaker side.

Another feature is the desire to always play out from the back, even more so than Inter already did under Luciano Spalletti did during the last two seasons.

Quick vertical passing is a third trait, with Conte asking players to look forward as soon as they get the ball instead of keeping prolonged spells of possession.

Fourth is an extremely high press, with greater demands placed on Marcelo Brozovic than last season following Conte’s change of system (from 4-2-3-1 to 3-5-2).

Aggression is the final characteristic Inter have demonstrated, with the paper assuring that was not the same as their pressing.

Inter’s final preseason game in Asia will take place in Macao on Saturday, when they play Paris Saint-Germain.
