Antonio Cassano has encouraged Inter to ditch their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku and sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus instead.

Manchester United are reportedly asking for around €85 million to sell Lukaku, a fee the Nerazzurri cannot currently afford without a big sale.

Cassano played for Inter during the 2012-13 season and did not mince his words when discussing the Belgian striker.

The former forward told Sky Sport: “I don’t like Lukaku personally. It would be crazy to sign him for the figures we’re reading about.

“If Juventus want Mauro Icardi like we’re hearing then Inter must sign Higuain. I’m saying it as a fan, not as a reporter.”

Fantantonio also discussed the possibility of Radja Nainggolan leaving Inter to rejoin Cagliari, as was rumoured in Friday’s papers.

“I’d be happy for him, but I think it’s unlikely because of how much he earns,” Cassano added.

“If Nainggolan is happy he will find the right solution.”

Inter will play the final match of their preseason tour in Asia later today, when they face Paris Saint-Germain in Macao.
