Cagliari’s head coach Rolando Maran refused to drawn on reports they are chasing Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

Nainggolan is reportedly prioritising a return to Sardinia at the moment after accepting he is no longer part of the Nerazzurri’s plans.

The 30-year-old was also linked with Galatasaray in Sunday’s papers, but he seems determined to stay in Italy.

Maran told Sky Sport: “It would be stupid of me to talk about the transfer market, I need to concentrate on preseason here. These are matters I do not need to get involved in.”

Nainggolan spent four years playing for Cagliari, making 137 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoblu.

He then joined Roma in January 2014 and stayed there until his move to Inter last summer.

Nainggolan scored seven goals during a difficult debut campaign in Milan, although one helped Inter secure Champions League qualification on the final day of the Serie A season.

Antonio Conte and Beppe Marotta have both publicly discarded him, though, leaving him with no option but to seek a move elsewhere.
