Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta will meet Roma for crucial Edin Dzeko talks tomorrow, Tuttosport confirmed this morning.

Marotta is due to cross paths with the Giallorossi’s management on three separate occasions between Monday and Tuesday, one of which will be at Serie A’s fixture ceremony.

Inter have so far offered €12 million for Dzeko but Roma still want €20 million and are not budging from their asking price.

Gianluca Petrachi is prepared to keep the Bosnian and lose him for free next summer if nobody meets his request.

Dzeko missed both of Roma’s latest preseason friendlies this week due to a small muscular issue, but the paper assured there was ‘nothing strategical’ behind his absence.

Inter hope an offer worth €15 million plus bonuses could convince Petrachi to soften his demands somewhat, but Roma will need to sign a replacement for Dzeko in any case.

If no breakthrough arrives in the next 48 hours it is possible Inter could ‘park’ Dzeko and move the money they had set aside for him over to their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku yesterday posted a photo on Twitter with his agent Federico Pastorello, along with a cryptic message ‘soon to be continued’.

Inter are considering a new offer worth €70 million plus bonuses for the Belgian international, having had a bid of €60 million rejected by Manchester United.

The Red Devils want €88 million to sell Lukaku and there is no sign as yet of them lowering that asking price.

Juventus are also interested in the forward now and could sign Lukaku in a swap deal with Paulo Dybala.

Rafael Leao is no longer an alternative to Dzeko or Lukaku for Inter, because the Lille forward seems destined to join Milan.

Edinson Cavani is a more realistic option, despite earning €12 million annually at present, mostly because he only has one year left on his deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
