Steven Zhang has assured Inter supporters they will keep setting more and more important targets for the club in the coming years.

Antonio Conte’s side have returned from preseason tour in Asia and will now ramp up preparations ahead of an ambitious 2019-20 campaign.

Suning have tripled Inter’s annual turnover since buying the club in 2016 and Zhang insisted their work was far from done.

“In the next three or five years, Inter will keep growing and set higher targets,” Zhang told Xinhua.

“The value of our players, our brand and the perception of the club will all be significantly improved just by taking part in the Champions League.

“For sure, the higher we climb the more persevering we’ll have to be, going step by step. In the next three, five and 10 years we need to move towards the objective of being on top of the world.”

Inter’s final two preseason friendlies will take place against Tottenham and Valenica in the first fortnight of August.
