Inter have offered Edinson Cavani a three-year deal worth €9 million annually as they attempt to coax the striker away from Paris Saint-Germain, according to La Repubblica.

The Nerazzurri are in a hurry to find a new striker for Antonio Conte, but Romelu Lukaku’s arrival from Manchester United appears increasingly unlikely.

Cavani has emerged as the club’s most credible alternative plan and would stand to earn the same amount of money in Milan as he does in Paris, or rather €54 million gross until 2022.

“The Uruguayan’s contract with PSG expires next summer, and yet Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s employees want €50 million to sell him,” Repubblica reported this morning.

“It might be a lot of money, but Inter need to sign someone and they need to sign him fast.”

As well as their initial offer, Inter’s owners Suning have offered Cavani the chance to continue his career in China once he leaves the Nerazzurri.

Zhang Jindong owns Jiangsu Suning in the Super League and this could prove to be a convincing argument for the 32-year-old.

Inter must now await a response from the player and his entourage before they seriously consider opening talks with PSG.
