Edinson Cavani’s stats at Paris Saint-Germain last season are a source of encouragement for Inter as they chase the Uruguayan forward, according to Corriere dello Sport.
El Matador has seemingly become the Nerazzurri’s primary target in attack after Juventus overtook them in the race to sign Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.
Cavani missed two months in the second half of last season due to a muscular injury, ensuring he only played one minute during PSG’s humiliating Champions League defeat at home to United.
However, he nevertheless ended the year as Ligue 1’s third highest goal-scorer behind Kylian Mbappe and Lille’s Nicolas Pepe, contributing 18 goals and six assists in 21 appearances.
In all competitions, Cavani’s tally rose to 23 goals and nine assists from 33 matches, including his performances in the domestic cups and the Champions League.
The paper assured those were ‘important figures’ for the 32-year-old, especially considering he has always struggled to play effectively alongside Neymar.
