Inter are not planning to bring their academy forward Edoardo Vergani back into their talks with Roma for Edin Dzeko, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Vergani was involved in negotiations last month when it seemed the Nerazzurri would use him to lower the cash fee for the Bosnian.

However, the paper denied reports elsewhere this week that his name had re-emerged between the clubs, as Roma continue to hold out for €20 million.

Vergani rejected a move to Sassuolo in June and it is now more than likely he will stay with Inter’s Primavera this season.

Inter are said to be ‘disappointed’ with the 18-year-old after he declined the chance to join the Neroverdi.

Piero Ausilio had his work cut out securing enough ‘capital gains’ for Financial Fair Play before 30 June, and Vergani’s refusal did not help matters.

Vergani made 17 appearances for Armando Madonna’s side in all competitions last year, scoring twice in the Viareggio cup tournament.
