Inter’s former forward Ivan Zamorano is confident the Nerazzurri will get things right under Antonio Conte this season.

The Nerazzurri’s first fixture in Serie A will be against Lecce at San Siro, who were promoted back to the top flight after a seven-year exile last year.

Zamorano spoke to Quotidiano di Lecce on Wednesday and discussed both teams’ prospects ahead of the new campaign.

“Inter have begun a new journey with Conte, revolutionising their squad and style of play,” the ex-Chile international said.

“They will need time but I’m confident for them because the coach is extremely well-prepared. The results he achieved with Juventus speak for themselves and I’m convinced he’ll know how to get the best from his players.

“It will be a tough test for Lecce on the opening weekend in Milan but it might give them some interesting indications for the season ahead.

“I don’t know Fabio Liverani personally but I’ve been able to appreciate his brand of football on television. Lecce will have a lot of enthusiasm this season after securing back-to-back promotions.”
