Mauro Icardi is starting to entertain the idea of joining Roma this summer, according to Sky Sport.

Juventus are moving ever closer to securing Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United and this would close the door on a possible move to the Bianconeri, who were Icardi’s first choice.

Inter could attempt to include their former captain in a deal for Edin Dzeko, for whom Roma still want €20 million.

The clubs would have a huge amount of work to do to piece the deal together, though, while the Giallorossi could struggle to offer Icardi convincing personal terms.

Inter have all but lost hope of signing Lukaku and tonight revived their interest for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ante Rebic.

The Nerazzurri first made an approach for the Croatian international last month and see him as a potential replacement for Ivan Perisic.

Rebic costs €40 million and is nothing like the same player as Lukaku, but Inter were said to have ‘accelerated’ nonetheless.

The 25-year-old was part of the Eintracht side which knocked Inter out of the Europa League last season, with Adi Hutter’s side ultimately reaching the semi-finals.
