Pescara have added their name to the long list of clubs queuing up to sign Inter forward Davide Merola, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Empoli met his agent Mino Raiola last week as they pursued a permanent deal, offering to make the Italian an important part of their promotion push in Serie B.
Sampdoria and Bologna are also interested in the 19-year-old, although Raiola reportedly blocked a €500,000 move to the Blucerchiati because they would have sent him out on loan.
Pescara finished sixth in Serie B last season and gave ample game time to two of Merola’s fellow academy products at Inter, or rather Davide Bettella and Andrew Gravillon.
Merola made 32 appearances in all competitions for Inter’s Primavera side last season, scoring 12 goals and creating three assists.
His most eye-catching goal of the campaign came during a 4-2 win against Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League, but Armando Madonna’s side were eliminated at the group stage.
The forward’s contract expires next summer and is unlikely to be renewed, meaning Merola’s suitors must sign him on a permanent deal.
