Inter’s hopes of selling Gabriel Barbosa this summer are being thwarted by the striker’s wage demands, according to Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri want €18 million to offload their disastrous signing from three summers ago and have received interest from clubs in England, Spain and Russia.

However, Gabigol is scaring all of them away by telling his suitors he wants an annual salary of more than €4 million.

The Brazilian has three years left on his deal with Inter and would need to be sold for €15 million to avoid a net loss.

Gabigol failed to make an impact in Europe while playing for Inter and Benfica, but he has resurrected his career since returning home.

The forward has scored nine goals in 12 league games for Flamengo this season, along with nine in 11 matches between the club’s various cup and state championship tournaments.

Inter signed him from Santos for around €30 million in 2016 but the 22-year-old scored just once in Serie A, securing a 1-0 win against Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
