Mauro Icardi does not want to join Roma despite pressure from Inter to accept a move, according to Corriere della Sera.
Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta and his counterpart Guido Fienga have discussed a potential swap deal involving Edin Dzeko.
Icardi remains adamant he will only leave the Nerazzurri to join Juventus, though, who no longer seem interested after moving for Romelu Lukaku.
Napoli are still keen on poaching the 26-year-old but Icardi is only contemplating a future with Juve or Inter for now.
Edinson Cavani has emerged as Inter’s first alternative to Lukaku this week, although they will make one last-ditch attempt to secure the Belgian if Paulo Dybala rejects a move to Manchester United.
PSG want €50 million to sell the Uruguay international but in any case no developments are expected before Saturday’s Trophee des Champions match, where the French champions will play Rennes.
Cavani was reported to have declined the Nerazzurri’s advances by other sources on Thursday, but the paper did not confirm this suggestion.
