Inter appeared to receive a boost today in their bid to sell Joao Mario and Ivan Perisic to Monaco.

The Ligue 1 club are heavily linked with both players as the Nerazzurri seek buyers for all the squad members Antonio Conte does not want.

Monaco CEO Oleg Petrov confirmed they would not sign Andre Silva from AC Milan, but he seemingly left the door open for talks with their city rivals.

“We’re looking for a central defender, a midfielder and a winger,” Petrov told AFP.

“We’re also searching for another striker to play alongside Radamel Falcao in a 4-4-2 system, but we’re not in talks for Silva.

“His move fell through because the clubs did not reach a financial agreement, not because of an injury. We’re looking at other options.”

Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has already worked with Joao Mario while in charge of Sporting Lisbon and could be behind the pursuit for the Portugal international.

Perisic is deemed surplus to requirements at Inter after Antonio Conte decided he was not suited to playing at wing-back.
