Mauro Icardi’s standoff with Inter shows no sign of ending after the striker reiterated he would only leave the club for Juventus, according to Sky Sport.

Inter’s hierarchy met their former captain at Appiano Gentile yesterday and reminded Maurito he had no future with the Nerazzurri.

Icardi’s chances of moving to Turin will end if Juve and Manchester United complete their swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.

Even if the deal falls through, though, he would need the Old Lady to sell Moise Kean, Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic in order to create space in their squad.

Inter’s relationship with the Argentine has completely broken down and there is no chance the parties will rebuild their bridges.

Friday’s leading sports papers even suggested Icardi’s entourage could seek legal action against the club, should they exclude the 26-year-old from their Serie A and Champions League squad lists.
