Inter are still waiting in the wings as Juventus and Manchester United discuss a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri have not lost all hope of securing the Belgian striker but they are reliant upon Dybala rejecting a move to Old Trafford.

Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun has delayed his return to Buenos Aires to continue talks with United, but the parties remain a long way from an agreement.

The Premier League’s transfer window closes on Thursday and time is running out for United to sign the 25-year-old.

Dybala’s wants €10 million annually plus bonuses to come to the Premier League, but United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has yet to offer more than €8 million.

The forward is also reluctant to accept the clause present in every United player’s contract – except Paul Pogba – which sanctions an automatic 25% wage cut if the club do not qualify for the Champions League.

Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici is considering flying to London again in a bid to speed up negotiations between the parties.

Lukaku is training with United for the moment but is eager to complete his move away to Italy as quickly as possible.

Inter are hoping everything falls apart so they can rejoin the race, but Gazzetta assured this was a premature scenario for now.
