Inter will attempt to arrange a swap deal with Fiorentina involving Cristiano Biraghi and Borja Valero, according to Sport Mediaset.
Biraghi came through the Nerazzurri’s youth system and made 36 league appearances for the Viola last season.
Valero is in talks with Fiorentina over a surprise return because he is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans.
Radja Nainggolan was also linked with a move to Florence, but he will instead complete a return of his own to Cagliari soon.
Inter are working on several fronts this week but seem no closer to selling Mauro Icardi, as the forward continues to reject all possible destinations.
Roma have declined an improved €15 million bid for Edin Dzeko and it was recently suggested another swap deal could take place.
Duvan Zapata remains the Nerazzurri’s first alternative to Romelu Lukaku, who has agreed personal terms with Juventus, but Ante Rebic is also a serious option.
Beppe Marotta has also not lost hope of pulling off a ‘miracle’ and signing Paulo Dybala, who has yet to accept his move to Manchester United.
Inter are also looking to secure sales and seem intent on sending George Puscas and Facundo Colidio to clubs in England.
Any money they receive from their centre-forwards’ departures will not be enough to resurrect their Lukaku chase, though, as the Belgian now seems destined to join Juve.
