Inter would renege on their promise never to sell Mauro Icardi to Juventus if they could swap him for Paulo Dybala, according to La Repubblica.
Dybala is in talks with Manchester United as the Premier League giants prepare to swap him for Romelu Lukaku.
Beppe Marotta is working to undo his former club’s hard work, though, contacting La Joya and urging him to join Inter instead.
“If he can convince him to say no to United, resist the pressure Juventus will put on him and give his word to Inter, the deal Marotta discussed with Andrea Agnelli some time ago really could come to fruitition,” the paper reported this morning.
“Both clubs would record a huge capital gain and deliver a ‘theoretical champion’ to their respective head coaches.”
Marotta would have to negotiate directly with Agnelli if he wanted to swap Icardi with Dybala because he is no longer on speaking terms with Fabio Paratici.
The former colleagues’ relationship ended when Paratici sought to create Marotta a big problem upon his arrival at Inter, launching a charm offensive on Icardi and persuading him to commit to Juventus.
