Inter’s hopes of selling Mauro Icardi to Napoli could be dashed by the Partenopei’s policy on image rights, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Aurelio De Laurentiis retains full control over all his players’ sponsorship and corporate activities, occasionally leading to friction during transfer negotiations.
Icardi and his wife Wanda Nara would like the image rights to be split evenly between the parties, but Napoli have always been intransigent on this issue.
De Laurentiis has another obstacle to overcome when it comes to Icardi’s salary, with the forward asking for an annual figure between €7.5-8 million.
Inter want €75 million from to sell Icardi on the basis Napoli were preparing to spend €85 million for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe.
The Azzurri will refuse to spend that much, however, especially given they are the only buyer left after Juventus withdrew their interest to sign Romelu Lukaku.
Icardi rejoined Inter’s first team on Wednesday after the Nerazzurri returned from their summer tour in Asia.
Antonio Conte continues to show no sign of reintegrating Maurito back into his plans, though, and will exclude him from Sunday’s penultimate preseason friendly with Tottenham.
