Today’s friendly with Tottenham Hotspur and next weekend’s with Valencia will prove decisive in whether Ivan Perisic will be one of the strikers for Inter this season according to a report from Tuttosport.
Due to Inter having a shortage of strikers, the Croatian, who is traditionally a winger, has been playing as a striker during the course of pre-season.
Inter manager Antonio Conte originally envisaged Perisic playing at left wing-back but after coming to the realisation that he could not fulfil the role, he had no option but to play him up-top due to the 3-5-2 system he has put in place at Inter.
If the decision is taken that Perisic will not be one of the strikers, Inter will then have to look to sell him due to the fact he cannot fit in.
The report goes on to state that there have been no offers from the Premier League for the 30-year-old, who has a long standing desire to play in England’s top flight.
Ligue 1 outfit Monaco have shown an interest in signing him but it remains to be seen whether Perisic would be interested in leaving a Champions League club in Inter for a club who will not be competing in European football whatsoever this season.
