Fiorentina have sparked an interest in signing Inter winger Matteo Politano according to a report from La Repubblica.

La Viola are fond of Politano, who only recently completed his permanent switch to Inter from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo, so much so that they are willing to offer fellow Italian international Cristiano Biraghi in exchange to acquire him.

Biraghi is a player who would certainly meet Inter’s needs as Dalbert’s looming departure would leave the Nerazzurri with just Kwadwo Asamoah capable of playing at left wing-back.

Moreover, Biraghi’s arrival makes complete sense from a registration point of view. The 26-year-old came through the ranks at Inter and would therefore count as a homegrown player in UEFA competitions, something Inter have struggled with in recent years.

This past season Biraghi, who has five Italy caps to his name, made 40 appearances across all competitions in which he scored once and provided six assists.
