Roma are trying to convince Edin Dzeko to remain with the club amid continued interest in his services from fellow Serie A side Inter according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Giallorossi have struggled in their pursuit to land Gonzalo Higuain and Dzeko staying would ultimately save them from any further hassle of trying to find a replacement.

Some of Dzeko’s Roma teammates have tried to convince him to remain in the Italian capital as has new Roma manager Paulo Fonseca, who has been impressed by the Bosnian veteran’s performances during pre-season.

Roma have been demanding €20 million for Dzeko but Inter are adamant to meet their demands due to the fact he is currently 33 and has just a year left on his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

As per reports, Inter were originally only looking to spend between €10-12 million but their most recent offer is of €15 million and they seemingly have no interest in raising it any further.
