Cagliari have revived their interest in a loan deal for Inter left-back Federico Dimarco, according to FcInterNews.it.

Dimarco was already the subject of negotiations between the clubs when Inter were chasing Nicolo Barella in June, but in the end they signed the midfielder in a cash-only deal.

Cagliari loaned Luca Pellegrini from Roma last season and he remains their first-choice at full-back, but Pellegrini’s new club Juventus are reluctant to give the green light.

Tommaso Giulini has therefore contacted Dimarco’s agent Giuseppe Riso to sound out their availability for a move to Sardinia.

Dimarco is currently training with Inter’s first team as Antonio Conte prepares for his final preseason friendly against Valencia.

However, the 22-year-old’s future is almost certain to be elsewhere after making 13 league appearances for Parma last year.

Benfica were also interested in Dimarco earlier this summer, but their approach coincided with his participation at the under-21 Euros and nothing materialised.

Cagliari’s chances of bringing him in are helped by the strong relations they now have with Inter, following their recent talks for Radja Nainggolan’s return.
