Roma are desperately trying to persuade Edin Dzeko to stay for another season amid continued interest from Inter, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter had an offer worth €15 million rejected by the Giallorossi last week, with reports yesterday suggesting an improved bid could be on the way.

However, Roma do not have an adequate replacement lined up and may even increase their asking price for the forward now.

The Milanese paper reported this morning: “€20 million will not be enough anymore to sign Dzeko. Inter will have to add another €5 million in bonuses.”

Dzeko scored 14 goals in all competitions for Roma last season as they finished sixth in Serie A and reached the Champions League last 16.

He joined the capital club in 2015 from Manchester City and has since scored 87 times in 179 appearances.

Antonio Conte wanted to sign the Bosnian while he was managing Chelsea in 2018, but Dzeko could not agree personal terms with the Blues.

Inter hope they can finally deliver the 33-year-old to their new head coach, but their chances of coaxing him away from Roma are getting slimmer and slimmer with each day that passes.
