Sebastiano Esposito today assured Inter supporters he never even considered leaving the club this summer.

The 17-year-old provided an assist for Stefano Sensi in Sunday’s preseason friendly against Tottenham, having signed a new three-year deal with the Nerazzurri last month.

Paris Saint-Germain were strongly linked with a move for the forward, but Esposito insisted that was never on the cards.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I’ve always wanted to wear this shirt, right from the start of my career. My desire was to stay here.

“I’ll still be young enough to play with Inter’s under-18s this season, so I expect to play for them and for the under-19s. I’d obviously like to keep training with the first team though, that’s the best way to improve.

“It will certainly be an exciting season for me and I’ll be ready for whatever happens.”

Esposito described Antonio Conte as one of the best three coaches in the world, before looking back on last weekend’s International Champions Cup victory in London.

“The two things which have struck me about Conte are his charisma and strong personality,” the striker added.

“I was fairly happy with my performance on Sunday, it was a positive display from the team. It was only a friendly but it’s important to have a winning mentality in these matches as well.”

Esposito played 45 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before being replaced by Matteo Politano for the second half.

He has started all five preseason friendlies under Conte so far and will hope to complete the set when Inter face Valencia on Saturday.
