Inter have time on their side as they battle Juventus to secure a deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri have not lost hope of signing the Manchester United striker but they need to sell Paulo Dybala, who is being followed by Tottenham, before making another offer.

The Premier League’s transfer window closes on Thursday at 6pm CET and this means Fabio Paratici has little more than 24 hours left to offload La Joya.

Inter, meanwhile, are not in a hurry to complete any sales and can continue studying the best strategy to win over United’s resistance.

The Nerazzurri have denied reports emerging from England about a fresh offer for Lukaku, but they are working behind the scenes with the striker’s agent Federico Pastorello.

United’s interest for former Spurs forward Fernando Llorente, who can arrive at any time given he is a free agent, suggests they are willing to grant Lukaku his wish of a move to Italy.

Premier League clubs only have until tomorrow to bring players in but they can sell abroad until 2 September, when the Italian window closes.

The signs are beginning to look positive again for Inter, though, as Beppe Marotta prepares to launch a counter-attack on his former colleague Paratici.

Juventus seemed certain to get Lukaku last weekend as they closed in on a swap deal involving Dybala, but their plans have been ruined by Paulo’s decision to reject United.

Antonio Conte has wanted the 26-year-old from the start of the summer and there is still a chance he will get his man in the next few days.
