Inter president Steven Zhang will meet Romelu Lukaku’s agent in London today as they seek a deal for the Manchester United forward, according to The Mirror.

Federico Pastorello’s talks with Zhang are designed to help Inter formulate a more convincing offer for the Belgian international, who is anxiously awaiting a move to Italy.

United have already rejected a €60 million bid from Inter and are holding out for €88 million, more than the fee they paid Everton back in 2017.

David McDonnell reported: “While United’s players had a day off on Monday, Lukaku was expected back in training on Tuesday, but has still not reported back for duty, as he seeks to force through a move away from Old Trafford.”

“Pastorello is hoping to convince Inter to meet United’s asking price for Lukaku, to allow his client, who is not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future plans, to secure the move to restart his career.”

Juventus have not lost hope of signing Lukaku yet either, although the Bianconeri’s pursuit has been hampered by United withdrawing their interest for Paulo Dybala.

The paper assured United had not yet discounted a player-plus-cash deal involving Mario Mandzukic, with the Croatian now surplus to requirements in Turin.
