Inter’s new signing Romelu Lukaku received a good luck message from his former club Manchester United this afternoon.

Lukaku officially completed a €65+10 million move to the Nerazzurri on Thursday, following the completion of a medical in the morning.

The Belgian international scored 42 goals in 96 games for United, including 77 starts, with 15 of those coming last season.

“Manchester United can confirm Romelu Lukaku has completed a move to Inter Milan,” a statement on the club’s website read.

“Everybody would like to thank Romelu for his efforts at the club and pass on our best wishes for the future.”

Lukaku joined United from Everton in a £79 million deal in 2017, after being heavily courted by Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

Conte was desperate to secure his man at the second time of asking this summer and he has finally got his wish.

Lukaku met his new boss at Appiano Gentile earlier and will begin preseason training with the first team tomorrow.

It remains to be seen whether he will travel with Inter for Saturday’s friendly against Valencia, having not featured in any of United’s fixtures.
