Antonio Cassano is confident Antonio Conte will lead Inter to the Scudetto this season.

The Nerazzurri’s former striker gave a long interview to Gazzetta dello Sport’s weekly magazine ‘Sportweek’, which will become available tomorrow.

However, the paper released a few advance quotes from the discussion this morning and one of them was related to the 2019-20 Serie A title race.

“Inter will win the Scudetto this time ahead of Juventus and Napoli, because I’m convinced Conte’s arrival has closed the gap,” Cassano said.

Conte will take charge of Inter’s final preseason friendly tomorrow when they play Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium.

The Nerazzurri’s next game thereafter will be their first league fixture on 26 August, when they face newly-promoted Lecce at San Siro.

Cassano only spent one season playing for Inter but claims to have always supported the club since childhood.

Fantantonio made 39 appearances under Andrea Stramaccioni, scoring nine goals in all competitions.
