Mauro Icardi has become a priority for Juventus in the transfer market this month, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri have been persistently linked throughout the summer with the former Inter captain, whom Antonio Conte and the club both want to offload.

Maurizio Sarri is searching for the ideal partner to Cristiano Ronaldo in attack and appears to have advised Fabio Paratici that Maurito is the man.

Paratici has returned from London after failing to offload Paulo Dybala or Mario Mandzukic, and now he will pursue Icardi with greater vigour.

Gonzalo Higuain is the most naturally suited to Ronaldo in Juve’s current squad, but Pipita is thought to be surplus to requirements now.

Mandzukic was Max Allegri’s preferred player in that position, but the Croatian does not fit Sarri’s own style of play that well.

Dybala was expected to strike up a great understanding with CR7, but the pair’s first season together did not unfold as La Joya had planned.
