Inter will strike fear into their opponents under Antonio Conte this season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Luigi Garlando.
The Nerazzurri completed their fifth signing of the summer yesterday by bringing in Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United.
Garlando felt Conte’s side would draw huge benefits in Serie A from their supreme physicality and newfound winning mentality.
He told Tuttomercatoweb.com: “You only need to think about what this team will be able to do from corners with all this physical strength.
“They’ve already assimilated Conte’s mentality as well. Inter are already a combative side, although if Napoli sign James Rodriguez they’ll be on the same level.”
Garlando agreed with Massimo Moratti after Inter’s former president claimed Mauro Icardi was a better striker than Lukaku.
However, he admitted he was still not surprised the Nerazzurri had opted to replace one with the other.
“It reached the point where this move had to be done,” Garlando added.
“Sooner or later we’ll find out what really happened with Icardi and why Inter have been so intransigent in their desire to sell one of their assets.
“Lukaku is suited to Conte’s style of play and he could form a successful partnership with Edin Dzeko, who knows how to come short and link play with his teammates.
“Beppe Marotta appeared to have lost out to Juventus with Lukaku but eventually he emerged victorious over Fabio Paratici.”
