Inter remain keen on signing either Cristiano Biraghi or Matteo Darmian before the transfer window shuts on 2 September, according to Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri want to deliver Antonio Conte another option on the left-hand side of his 3-5-2 system, although Dalbert and Federico Dimarco must both depart first.

Biraghi is the first name on Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio’s wish list, not least because the Italian would be eligible for one of Inter’s ‘homegrown’ slots in their Champions League squad.

Darmian did not feature in Inter’s talks with Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku, but he remains a popular option with his former Italy boss Conte.

United gave Darmian just five starts in all competitions last season and would almost certainly be open to selling, despite the Premier League market having already closed.

Conte initially tried to convert Ivan Perisic into a wing-back for his new formation, but he gave up on that experiment after just one preseason friendly against Lugano.
