Inter are weighing up two different strategies in their bid to offload former captain Mauro Icardi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Icardi moved closer to an acrimonious departure yesterday after the Nerazzurri handed his no. 9 shirt over to new signing Romelu Lukaku.
Inter can either seek a hefty cash deal for the striker and use the money to pursue another big signing, or they can attempt to swap him with Paulo Dybala.
The paper reported: “It’s no mystery Roma and Napoli would welcome Icardi with open arms. If anything it’s Icardi who has resisted the idea so far, considering nothing but a move to Juventus.
“It’s very difficult to imagine a deal with the Bianconeri at the moment given the poor relations between the clubs, but you cannot exclude it categorically yet.”
Dybala is thought to be on his way out in Turin, having been close to joining Manchester United and Tottenham last week, but Juve are not prepared to countenance a swap deal for now.
They will therefore need to pull together a large amount of money to convince Inter to sell Icardi, which could then be used to pursue another midfielder or a wing-back.
