Inter’s hopes of swapping Mauro Icardi for Paulo Dybala could be scuppered by their current frosty relationship with Juventus, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The deal appears to be ‘perfect’ considering the economic and technical advantages it would provide for both the clubs and their respective players.
However, the tension which has arisen during this summer’s transfer window has led sources in Turin to describe the move as ‘impossible’.
“Juventus do not want to reinforce a direct rival by giving them Dybala, whose experience there is over but remains a great player,” the paper explained.
“Inter are in a more comfortable position than they were before signing Romelu Lukaku and will only let Icardi wear the Bianconeri’s shirt with €80-90 million – more than they will demand from Napoli and Roma – or Dybala in return.”
Both clubs would record a healthy ‘capital gain’ from an Icardi-Dybala swap, enabling Inter and Juventus to balance their books amid other costly business.
There is little room for this transfer to happen at present, though, meaning Inter are currently placing their faith in either Roma or Napoli stepping up their interest in Icardi.
