Romelu Lukaku has become football’s third most expensive player in accumulated transfer fees after completing a move to Inter, as reported by The Sun.

The Nerazzurri paid €65 million to secure the Belgian striker and could fork out another €10 million if a series of bonuses are triggered.

Everton, United and Inter have invested a whopping total of €183 million for Lukaku put together, a figure only bettered by Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Neymar’s moves to Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain combine to an overall €279 million, while CR7 has cost €209 million across his career.

Lukaku is ahead of world-class talents such as Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Angel Di Maria, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic sits fifth on €152 million.

Inter’s former midfielder Philippe Coutinho is sixth on the world list with a career transfer fee of €146 million, following a mega-money move to Barcelona in 2018.

Lukaku is also the most expensive signing in Inter’s history, displacing Christian Vieri after his €46.5 million move from Lazio in 1999.

Joao Mario, Radja Nainggolan and Geoffrey Kondogbia complete the Nerazzurri’s personalised top five, none of whom have repaid the faith shown in them while in Milan.
