Lazio are reportedly confident they can hold onto Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, despite growing interest from Inter.
Corriere dello Sport today revealed Manchester United were prepared to offer €75 million for the Serbian midfielder, but formal talks never materialised.
The paper could not confirm Inter’s intention to secure Milinkovic-Savic before the transfer window closes on 2 September, but they were certain the Nerazzurri ‘liked’ him.
Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also admirers of the 24-year-old, who scored seven goals in all competitions for Lazio last year.
The Biancoceleste are aware they cannot sleep easily yet with France and Spain’s open for another three weeks.
PSG’s new sporting director Leonardo is thought to have identified Milinkovic-Savic as a possible signing if Neymar leaves, although he has not made any official approach so far.
Juventus reached a verbal agreement with the player in May but subsequently vanished from the scene, with no sign they will revive their interest.
Real Madrid were keen on bringing Milinkovic-Savic to the Bernabeu twelve months ago but no such rumours have arisen during this window.
