Romelu Lukaku is hard at work to ensure he is in tip-top condition for Inter’s Serie A season opener with Lecce in just over two weeks time according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Belgian joined Inter in a club record transfer deal from Manchester United in recent days and is lacking a bit on the fitness front.

In the days before his move to Inter, he trained with former club Anderlecht to keep fit but still needs to put some work in.

The report from the Rome based newspaper states that the club could organise a friendly match for him to gain some match fitness and build some on-field chemistry with his new teammates before the Lecce match, similarly to the friendly organised against local side Pro Sesto for Lautaro Martinez, who needed to raise his fitness levels. Inter won the friendly with Pro Sesto 5-1 with Lautaro grabbing himself a hat-trick.
