Inter have refused to give up in their pursuit of signing Cristiano Biraghi from Fiorentina according to a report from Corriere Fiorentino.

The Nerazzurri are seemingly looking at Biraghi to add competition to the left back/left wing back department in the squad and because signing him would help them fulfil squad requirements relating to homegrown players in UEFA competitions.

Biraghi is a product of the Inter youth academy and left the club for Pescara back in 2016. After two years with the Delfini, Biraghi moved on to his current employers but could well leave just a season after joining them.

The 26-year-old recently broke into the Italian national team and was one of the best performing full backs in Serie A last season even though Fiorentina very nearly found themselves relegated.

This past season Biraghi, who is under contract with La Viola until 2022, made 40 appearances across all competitions in which he scored once and tallied six assists.
