Following an injury to their primary target Mohamed Fares, Torino have now turned their attention toward signing Inter defender Federico Dimarco to bolster their defence department according to a report from Torinogranata.it.
23-year-old Algerian international Fares tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during SPAL’s recent friendly with Cesena and is now expected to be out of action for the next few months at least.
Torino are now looking to sign Dimarco instead but it will not be easy for the Turin based club to acquire the Italian youth international the report goes on.
Inter now wish to keep a hold of Dimarco due to the fact he helps them fulfil squad requirements relating to homegrown players.
Dimarco is currently under contract with Inter through to the end of the 2022/23 season having re-joined the club on a permanent basis last Summer having been sold to Swiss side FC Sion.
