Napoli remain interested in signing Mauro Icardi from Inter according to a report from Milan based news outlet Corriere della Sera.

Napoli’s president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has been in contact with the 26-year-old’s wife/agent Wanda Icardi to discuss the possibility of a move to the Stadio San Paolo.

Carlo Ancelotti is now expected to contact Icardi and will try to convince him to join, just like he did with Kostas Manolas.

Inter’s management as a whole have no preference as to where Icardi ends up as they just want him out of the club which could well mean he ends up at either Roma or Juventus, who have both also shown an interest in signing him this Summer.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is however hopeful that he can perform a swap deal with Juventus that would see Icardi head to Turin and Paulo Dybala to Milan.

As per the report, Inter will use the money from Icardi’s sale, toward strengthening the midfield, with Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at the top of their transfer target list.
