Antonio Conte wants Inter to sign him another wing-back because he was not satisfied with Dalbert’s performances in preseason, according to Sport Mediaset.
The Nerazzurri’s head coach has lauded the Brazilian’s displays on a couple of occasions this summer, despite most expecting him to depart after another poor season.
However, the TV station insisted Dalbert had not done enough to earn a starting berth under Conte, opening the door to a last-minute sale.
Cristiano Biraghi and Matteo Darmian are the key names being followed by Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio.
Sources elsewhere on Monday suggested Inter were studying a Biraghi-Dalbert swap deal with Fiorentina, although Atalanta also want the Viola’s left back.
Darmian has always been a realistic objective for the club, though, considering Manchester United have every intention of moving him on.
Kwadwo Asamoah is the only other option behind Dalbert at present while Conte looks to set up his new 3-5-2 system.
The Ghana international only returned recently from the Africa Cup of Nations, though, meaning he is unlikely to be ready for Inter’s Serie A debut at home to Lecce.
