Inter face competition from Atalanta in their bid to resign Cristiano Biraghi from Fiorentina, according to FcInterNews.it.

Biraghi made 35 league appearances for the Viola last season but is ‘dreaming’ of a return to San Siro, having graduated from the Nerazzurri’s youth system in 2014.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have offered Fiorentina a loan with an option to buy, but they are open to a swap deal as well.

Fiorentina have already made approaches for Dalbert and Matteo Politano and Vincenzo Montella would be delighted to welcome either player in return.

Biraghi would be useful to Inter because he is eligible for a ‘homegrown’ slot in their Champions League squad this season.

He is expected to give preference to Inter over Atalanta, if he could choose, because he supported the Nerazzurri as a child.

Gian Piero Gasperini has requested the Italy international after Timothy Castagne picked up an injury and Arkadiusz Reca agreed a move to Spal.

Whichever club agrees a deal first, it appears certain Biraghi will be black-and-blue again by the end of this month.
