Roma have offered Mauro Icardi more money than Napoli as Inter seek a buyer for their former captain, according to Tuttosport.
The Giallorossi have switched their attention away from Gonzalo Higuain after deciding Maurito was more suited to Paulo Fonseca’s style of play.
Icardi would earn more in the capital because Roma want to compensate for the fact they cannot offer Champions League football.
“In any case, there is no chance that Roma’s supposed offer of €30 million plus Edin Dzeko will be accepted,” the paper reported.
“The cash part of their deal will have to be increased to at least €45 million.”
Juan Jesus launched a charm offensive on Roma’s behalf last week when he told Icardi on social media he was ‘waiting’ for him in the capital.
TS suggested it was likely the defender had acting on some kind of order from his club, having shared a dressing room with Icardi for four years in Milan.
