Gabriel Barbosa believes he is enjoying the best moment of his career at Flamengo this year.

The striker has scored nine goals in 10 Brasileirao appearances in 2019 and is due to remain with Jorge Jesus’ side until 31 December.

However, Inter are reportedly looking to curtail their loan deal with Flamengo amid interest from numerous clubs in Europe.

“My season at Santos last year was very special after not playing much for Inter and Benfica,” Gabigol said in a press conference today.

“Here, though, I’m playing with players I’d never have imagined. For everything I’ve experienced at Flamengo this is the greatest period of my career.”

Dynamo Moscow, Sevilla and Villarreal are among the sides rumoured to be interested in bringing Gabigol back to Europe this month.

The forward refused to be drawn on his future when asked to comment on his next destination, though.

Gabigol said: “These are decisions which will become clearer as time passes. I don’t know if I’ll stay here or if I’ll leave.

“For the moment I’m concentrated on Saturday’s match against Vasco de Gama and I’m leaving my agents and parents to deal with these issues.

“I’m happy here at Flamengo but I have a contract at Inter and I will respect that.”

Gabigol made a €30 million move from Santos to Inter in 2016 but scored just once in nine appearances for the Nerazzurri.
