Ivan Perisic believes he has joined one of the five biggest clubs in the world after leaving Inter to sign for Bayern Munich.

The Croatian has returned to the Bundesliga on loan for the 2019-20 season and could be purchased on a permanent deal next summer.

Perisic scored nine goals for Inter last season but was surplus to requirements in Antonio Conte’s new 3-5-2 system.

He told Bayern’s official website: “Everyone knows Bayern is a great club. For me it’s one of the biggest five clubs in the world.

“When a club like this comes calling you can’t say no, and that’s why I’m here. I promise I’ll give my best so we can win a lot of trophies together.”

Perisic’s time in Italy came to an end after Conte decided he was unsuited to playing either at wing-back or as a second striker.

The 2018 World Cup finalist enjoyed greater success under his predecessor Luciano Spalletti while playing in his preferred left wing position.

“I’ve played on the left for the last seven years but I can play on the other side as well,” Perisic assured his new supporters.

“I’ve played as a striker as well, so I’m available for the coach.”
