Juventus remain strong favourites to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter this month, according to FcInterNews.it.
The Bianconeri were the first club to approach the striker at the end of February, offering a five-year deal worth €8 million net plus bonuses.
Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio want €60-70 million or Paulo Dybala in a swap deal, despite having made it clear that Icardi is no longer part of their plans.
Maurizio Sarri is keen to coach Icardi in Turin while Cristiano Ronaldo and Giorgio Chiellini have also endorsed an eventual deal.
Inter have never completely stopped thinking about a move for Dybala, but Juventus seem determined to sell the forward abroad instead.
The clubs will need time to agree on how the deal will be structured, but everything points towards Icardi joining the Italian champions.
Napoli have offered Icardi a similar deal to Juventus, promising the 26-year-old €7.5 million per season, but Aurelio De Laurentiis and Cristiano Giuntoli have failed to win over Inter’s former captain.
Roma are prepared to pay Icardi €6 million annually, but the Giallorossi have never truly been in the hunt despite plenty of reports they are making progress.
Paris Saint-Germain made an approach to Inter earlier this summer, but they would only want him next summer as a replacement for Edinson Cavani.
Boca Juniors and Beijing Gouan have expressed interest as well, but Icardi has never been open to the idea of moving abroad.
Juventus are taking their time and will move towards the end of the market, hoping to secure their man for the cheapest fee possible.
