Mauro Icardi will only get his wish of joining Juventus this month if the Bianconeri can offload their other forward players, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Inter striker remains convinced his future will be in Turin and is reluctant to seriously consider interest from Napoli and Roma.
However, Fabio Paratici must find buyers for possibly two between Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic before Juve can make their move.
Roma have taken heart from the lack of transfer activity and are still hopeful Icardi will change his mind on a move to the capital.
Inter would prefer Icardi to join Roma as it would enable them to strike a deal involving Edin Dzeko, whom the Giallorossi have so far refused to sell.
Juve wanted to send Higuain to the Stadio Olimpico and use the money from his departure to finance an Icardi transfer, but this plan appears to have fallen through.
Beppe Marotta would be more than happy to swap Icardi for Paulo Dybala, who is expected to leave the Italian champions, but Juve are not willing to countenance a deal for the moment.
Paratici and his colleagues are hoping they can sell La Joya to Paris Saint-Germain, but they are unlikely to make any progress on that front until Neymar’s future has been resolved.
Barcelona and Real Madrid’s squabble over the former Santos forward is blocking everyone’s moves in the transfer market, including Juve as they seek much-needed funds for Icardi.
Roma are also keeping a close eye on the developments in Spain, as they believe a big-money move for Neymar would have a knock-on effect regarding everyone else’s price tags, Dzeko included.
