Inter could agree a loan deal with Sevilla for their midfielder Joao Mario by the end of this weekend, according to Libero.

The La Liga club have offered an initial payment of €4 million followed by an option to buy for €16 million.

Inter want a little more money for the Portugal international but it is possible the clubs reach an agreement in the coming days.

Mario made 20 league appearances under Luciano Spalletti last season, scoring once and creating three assists.

The 26-year-old has never repaid the faith Inter showed in him since joining in a €40 million deal from Sporting Lisbon.

He spent six months on loan with West Ham in 2018 but returned to Milan thereafter and failed to turn his fortunes around.

Inter are reportedly looking to make another signing in midfield before the transfer window shuts on 2 September.

But Mario’s departure appears to be a necessary condition before anyone else can be brought in.

Galatasaray and Marseille were also linked with the player in Thursday’s papers.
